Alasdhair Willis is a British publisher, creative consultant and the creative director of Hunter Boot Ltd, a rubber Wellington boot and footwear company established in 1856 with its headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. Though successful in his own right, especially in the industry where he works, he is generally popular for being the husband of the very famous English fashion designer Stella McCartney.

The publisher was born with the full name Alasdhair James Stewart Willis on the 13th of September 1971, in Middlesbrough, Middlesbrough, England, United Kingdom. He was raised near Middlesbrough by his father, a businessman, and his sports physiotherapist mother. He has three siblings – a brother and two sisters.
In a bid to have a feel of life outside North East of England, Willis eagerly read magazines such as i-D and The Face as a young boy. He later got into the University College London (UCL) Slade School of Fine Art in London, United Kingdom, to study fine art and French critical theory and graduated in 1994. However, even though he received offers from two significant galleries, he ended up not making it as an artist rather, he got into the advertising aspect of magazines and scored it big relaunching the Modern Review with Julie Burchill.
In 1996, Alasdhair Willis, together with Tyler Brule, co-established the style and fashion magazine known as Wallpaper and until 2002, Willis was the company’s group publishing director. In 2003, he launched a branding consultancy firm named Announcement Creative and worked with big brands like David Beckham, BBC, Adidas, Estee Lauder, and Established & Sons in 2005.
He later joined Hunter Boot Ltd. in 2013 and has worked with the production company Gainsborough & Whiting to create the first shows of the brand at London Fashion Week and with Checkland Kindleysides to design the company’s first flagship store first in London and later in Ginza, Tokyo. Not just that, Alasdhair Willis has also led a total revamp of the brand’s website in addition to making digital communication top priority. His Marriage
Fate always has a way of creating an opportunity for people who are meant to be together to meet each other. For Alasdhair Willis and Stella McCartney, it was work that brought them together. Willis had come in the capacity of a consultant to help Stella with a new business venture. They had a breakfast meeting and the same afternoon, Alasdhair Willis took a risk he would not usually take with a client by calling Stella McCartney and surprisingly, it paid off.
They eventually got married on 30th August 2003 at the Mount Stuart House on the east coast of the Isle of Bute. For the occasion, Stella was dressed in a revamped version of the same wedding dress her mother wore on her wedding day in 1969 as a way of honoring her memory and having her around on her big day.
It has been more than a decade since the duo tied the knot and till today, they still keep to the vow they made to each other by always being supportive of each other’s endeavors as confirmed by Stella, who has described her husband as her friend and biggest supporter.
