Celebrities are awesome and amazing people who as a matter of fact are very human. So it is almost impossible to rule out the possibility of crime in the entertainment industry. Celebrities like every other human, are exceedingly prone to mistakes with some rather off-putting human traits, and therefore commit crimes. In fact, you might be right to say they seek attention to make headlines by repeatedly committing crimes. Over the years, there have been a number of crimes that have been displayed on our television screens of our favorite celebrities being accused of involvement in both minor and heartbreaking crimes. While a lot of these celebrities and their crimes are still fresh in our memories, we have forgotten most of them. Here is a reminder of celebrities and the crimes they committed which we probably have forgotten.

1. Nicolas Cage – Domestic Violence


Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage was arrested in New Orleans on one count of domestic abuse and one count of disturbing the peace, based on police records. The police said Cage grabbed Kim by her upper arm and dragged her towards the property that he believed they were renting — there were no visible signs of injury to Kim’s arm after a violent argument in 2011.

2. Diddy – Criminal Assault with a Deadly Weapon


Rapper Sean P Diddy Combs was recently arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon at the University of California Los Angeles after he was accused of assaulting one of his son’s football coaches (Diddy’s son plays for the UCLA Bruins).

3. Robert Downey Jr. – Drug Charges

Downy revealed that he has been addicted to drugs since he was 8 years old. Plus, he has been arrested several times on drug charges, and has gone to and from rehab. After being seen curled up in a rat-infested alley, barely able to talk, Robert Downey Jr was arrested again on fresh drugs charges.

4. Charlie Sheen – Assault and Criminal Mischief


The star attraction of Two and a Half Men was arrested on Christmas morning 2009 for second-degree assault, menace and criminal mischief following the assault on his third wife, Brooke Mueller. In fact for Charlie it’s just not a one time thing as he has been linked to domestic violence abuse a good number of times. From Kelly Preston, Brittany Ashland, and Brooke Mueller, the ladies don’t  appear to learn anything from the ones before them. Anyway, Brooke Mueller said Charlie pressed her down on the bed and held a knife to her throat. Though Sheen had a different story and told the police that all they did was slap each other on the arms and he broke two pairs of her glasses in front of her.

 5. Mark Wahlberg Was Charged With Attempted Murder


During Wahlberg’s youth, he was in trouble 20–25 times with the Boston Police Department. Outside being addicted to cocaine and other substances at 13, he was involved in two different incidents of harassing African-American children at 15 by throwing rocks and shouting racial epithets at them. At 16, he was arrested and charged with attempted murder for assaulting two separate Vietnamese men. One he knocked unconscious with a big wooden stick while calling him a “Vietnam fucking shit,  the second named Hoa “Johnny” Trinh, he punched in the face that same day.

6. Justin Bieber – DUI & Criminal assault


Bieber has been involved in drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license. He pleaded guilty to charges of assault and careless driving from 2014. In January, he was arrested in Miami for drag racing a yellow Lamborghini, and then a few months later, he was charged with criminal assault for allegedly attacking a limousine driver.

7.Christian Slater Convicted For many Crimes


Christian Slater has been arrested several times, including the 1989 arrest for Drunk driving and assault, 1994 – Tried to board a commercial airline with a loaded gun in his luggage, 1994 – Assaulted then-girlfriend Michelle Jonas and a police officer, 2005 – Arrested for assault, and sexually assaulted a woman on the street.

8. Lindsay Lohan – Numerous Crimes


Lohan seems to have had more trouble with the law than anyone else on this list, and she’s probably more popular these days for her countless arrests than she is for her acting career.

9. Mickey Rourke – Spousal Abuse


Mickey was an amateur boxer before he started his acting career. He was arrested for spousal abuse in 1994. According to reports, he had apparently kicked and slapped his wife, Carre Otis. They were co-stars in Wild Orchid and got married in 1992. However, the charges were later dropped.

10. Mike Tyson – Rape

Mike Tyson the man we all acknowledge to be the true heavyweight champion of hte world will walk free at six o'clock tomorrow morning here in Plainfield, Indiana, after serving three years of a six year sentence for rape.

Tyson was arrested in 1991 for the rape of 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington (Miss Black Rhode Island) who said that Tyson pinned her down and raped her despite pleas for him to stop in an Indianapolis hotel room. The former champion was charged the following year and sentenced to six years in prison, but he served only half of his sentence.

11. R Kelly – Child Pornography


R Kelly was sued in 1996 by Tiffany Hawkins for having sexual relations with her when she was 15 while he was 24. Afterwards, the star was also accused of assaulting a minor when a video appeared reportedly showing Kelly having sex with, and urinating on an underaged girl.

12. Woody Harrelson – Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Drug Possession


Harrelson was arrested in 1982 for disorderly conduct also known as dancing like a wild man in the streets. When officers tried to arrest him, he resisted. Again in 1996, Harrelson was arrested for growing hemp plants in his residence.

13. Ozzy Osbourne


In 1984, Ozzy Osbourne was caught urinating on a cenotaph (honoring those that died in the Alamo in Texas) in a drunk manner. He was convicted and banned from the city of San Antonio for 10 years.

14. O.J. Simpson – Burglary


You probably still recall when O.J. Simpson was charged with the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994 right? Well, it didn’t end with that. Simpson also engaged in multiple crimes. In 2007, he was convicted and originally held without bail for the robbery of a Las Vegas casino, where Simpson agreed that he led a group of men to take sports memorabilia. He further admitted he did that because it was his (and was stolen from him).

15. Bill Gates Was Convicted For Driving Without a License


In 1975, Gates (founder of Microsoft) was arrested at the age of 19 for speeding and driving without a license in New Mexico.

16. Kobe Bryant – Sexual Assault


Bryant was taken into custody in connection with an investigation of sexual assault filed by a hotel employee, claiming that he raped her in his hotel room in 2003. Bryant opened up to being involved in sexual relations, but maintained that he believed the encounter was mutually agreed.

17. Jay-Z – Attempted Murder


Jay-Z was a member of Manhattan super club. The Kit Kat Klub in 1999, and his associates reportedly caused a distraction to give the chance for the rapper to stab record executive, Lance Riviera. He used a 5-inch blade and stabbed Riviera in the stomach as he thought he was behind the bootlegging of Vol 3… Life and Time Of S. Carter.  Jay-Z was later given three years’ probation in a New York criminal courtroom on December 6 for stabbing record producer Lance “Un” Rivera in 1999.

18. Martha Stewart – Lying To Federal Investigators And Conspiracy


Martha was found guilty of obstructing justice and lying to the government about a superbly timed stock sale. She was sentenced to five months in jail, and a 2 year house arrest for taking insider advice from a stock broker to withdraw her shares in ImClone Systems, and the day after, the stock dropped by 16%, where she avoided losing more than $45,000.

19. 50 Cent – Drug Dealing


One of the best artist of 2000s, 50 cent was convicted for selling vials of cocaine to an undercover officer in 1994. And when his home was explored three weeks later, he was convicted again as the police discovered heroine, ten ounces of crack cocaine, and a starter’s pistol in the rapper’s residence.

20. Matthew McConaughey – Drug Possession


McConaughey’s neighbor called police on him for hearing some noise and a whole lot of other commotions that came out of his apartment. When the cops got to his home, they saw McConaughey dancing naked with marijuana and other drugs around. He was arrested but was later released as the police didn’t have a search warrant at the time of they searched his home.

21. Mel Gibson


Known for his amazing acting and directing skills, Mel Gibson was arrested for driving under the influence several times and both his ex-girlfriend and step-mother have accused him of domestic violence.

22. Lil’ Kim – Perjury and Conspiracy

Lil’ Kim issued an untrue statement to a grand jury concerning her friend’s location at the time a murder case was on-going in 2005. She didn’t just serve a sentence for her lying, but she was made to pay a $50,000 fine. Anyway, the fine wasn’t much when compared to the 20 year maximum sentence she could have received.

23. Hugh Grant – Sex in Public with a Prostitute


Hugh Grant was convicted for being involved in oral sex in public with a Hollywood sex worker when he was promoting his movie, Nine Months. He later admitted his engagement in the vulgar conduct to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show, saying: “I think you know in life what’s a good thing to do and what’s a bad thing, and I did a bad thing. And there you have it.”

24. Sid Vicious


Sid Vicious, an English bass guitarist, drummer and vocalist, most famous as a member of the influential punk rock band the Sex Pistols killed his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen in 1978 by stabbing her. He later opened up to thrusting a knife into her, but said he did not intend to kill her. He was charged with murder, but didn’t stand trial as he died of a drug overdose while out on bail.

25. Will Smith – Aggravated Assault


In 1989, Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and criminal conspiracy for being among a group of men that assaulted a man and left him nearly blind. He spent one night in jail, and described it as the “worst night of his life.

26. Sean Penn – Domestic Violence


Sean Penn, an American actor, film director, a two-time Academy Awards winner, and political activist was arrested during his short-lived marriage to Madonna for domestic violence. Though, his career and social activism may outshine this crime it is however not entirely forgotten and probably never shall be.

27. Tim Allen – Drug Trafficking


Prior to Tim Allen Dick’s acting career,  he was apprehended for drug trafficking in 1978, and was caught with more than 650 grams of cocaine in his possession. He pleaded guilty, but only served 2 years and 4 months, against the life sentence that he would have been given.
