Yung Berg Net Worth: How He Started
Yung Berg was born Christian Ward on September 9, 1985 in Chicago, Illinois. He began his music career as a teenager in the early 2000s. In 2001, at the age of 15, he was signed to DMX‘s record label Bloodline Records. At the time Yung Berg used the moniker Iceberg, he was featured on the song “Dog 4 Life” which was part of The Exit Wounds soundtrack.
However, Berg’s parents thought it was too early to allow him dive straight into music so they shipped him off to a military boarding school. But boarding school changed nothing about Berg who still had his eyes fixed on music after graduating in 2003. To facilitate his launch into the bigger music scene, Young Berg moved to Los Angeles the same year. Two year’s later Berg landed a job as a recording assistant as well as a hypeman to Chicago rapper Shawnna who was a member of hip hop group “Disturbing tha Peace”.

After releasing a mixtape titled “Almost Famous: The Sexy Lady EP”, Yung Berg then released another single “Sexy Can I” featuring Ray J which ushered in his debut studio album “Look What You Made Me” released in 2008. The album featured top acts like Trey Songz, Twista, Eve and Lloyd and peaked at #20 on the US Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Back in 2005, when Yung Berg began working with rapper Shawnna in Los Angeles, he founded his own imprint Yung Boss which was changed to Yung Fly Movement (YFM). While he was absent on the Billboard charts, Yung Berg was busy producing and writing songs for chart topping artists under his Dream Team formed together with his producer Rob Holladay as well as his brother K-Young. Yung Berg has written and produced songs for artists like Diddy, Tamar Braxton, Nicki Minaj and may others.
In late 2008, Yung Berg had an idea to start his own reality show, with the title “Back In Business”. However, the show never made it to a premiere. In 2014, Yung Berg made his reality TV debut on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” where he dated fellow cast Masika Kalysha Tucker.
