In this age of social media craze, it appears one of the ways to make fast money is to amass a great number of following. And who else does that better other than our beloved celebrities? Among them, former Disney star, Selena Gomez is social media’s highest earner.

D’Marie Analytics, a data analytics company estimates Selena’s figures to be as high as $550,000 per post appearing through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The songstress is obviously making progress from her social media earnings- last December, the same source revealed she made around $230,000 per post.

Selena Gomez’s social media following is currently over 180.9 million. With 90 million of those coming from Instagram and the others from both Facebook and Twitter combined. D’Marie also revealed that her following increases by 200,000 every single day! How influential could she get?

What’s more? Selena has the most-liked picture in Instagram’s history. The sponsored picture which opened the Insta Hall of Fame to her boasts over 4.9 million likes and over 150,000 comments. In the picture, Selena is sipping from a Coca-Cola bottle inscribed with her song Me & the Rhythm’s lyric- “You’re the Spark”.

Amazingly, Selena features in far lesser ads compared to her fellow influential social media celebrities.


“Personally, I think it’s because she’s being smart and she’s aware that over-saturating her social feeds with sponsored content could negatively impact the relationship she has with her audience” Said D’Marie CEO Frank Spadafora in his interview with Adweek.

In the same interview with Adweek, Spadafora explained how they came up with their figures;

The rate-per-post is her “ad equivalent” value per post across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This may be different than how much she is actually getting paid when participating in social media campaigns. That is up to negotiations between her agents and the brands. This valuation is based on D’Marie’s algorithm which measures 56 metrics including followers, post frequency, engagement, quality of post, click-thru and potential to create sales conversions from her social content.
