Omarion was born Omari Ishmael Grandberry on November 12, 1984 in Inglewood, California. He began performing at the age of 5 and appeared in McDonald’s and Kelloggs Corn Pops commercials. Omarion also appeared in the music videos of R&B girl group, Before Dark.

Omarion began his music career in the early 2000’s as the lead singer of R&B boy band B2K. The band as formed by Chris Stokes released their first self-titled album in 2002. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs albums chart. It produced hot singles like “Uh Huh” and “Gots Ta Be”.
B2K’s popularity increased with the release of their 4th single “Bump Bump Bump” which featured P. Diddy. The single which was part of their second studio album Pandemonium! (2002) peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100. Following disagreements about the management of Chris Stokes, the group disbanded. Omarion went solo under the management of Chris Stokes and released his first solo album “O” in 2005. “O” debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The album also brought Omarion accolades like BET’s Best New Artist and Viewer’s Choice.

Omarion Net Worth: Continued Success, Movie And Later Achievements
Omarion has gone on to release four other studio albums which have all enjoyed above average success. 21 (2006) produced single “Icebox” which is Omarion’s most successful single to date. His other albums include, Ollusion (2010), Sex Playlist (2014) and Reasons (2016).
Ollusion produced hit single “I Get It In” which featured Gucci Mane. However, there was a controversy surrounding the single. Omarion who was with Young Money Cash Money label at the time originally collaborated with its CEO, Lil Wayne, but the leaking of the original song caused Omarion to boycott the label choosing Gucci Mane instead for the re-recorded version. Omarion dedicated the video of the song to pop King Michael Jackson.
In addition to YMCMB, Omarion have signed with other labels including Rick Ross‘ Mayback Music, Jay Z‘s Roc Nation and Atlantic Records.
In 2007, he collaborated with Bow Wow on the album Face Off, the same year, he won the Urban Music Award for the Most Inspiring Act. Face Off sold over 100,000 copies in its first week and went on to sell additional 400,00 copies in the weeks that followed. The album received gold certification from the RIAA.
Apart from music, Omarion has also ventured into acting. In 2003, Omarion together with his B2K band members starred in “You Got Served”. Omarion’s other movies include Fat Albert (2004) and Somebody Help Me (2007).
Omarion has also made appearances in various TV shows. He was a judge on the 5th season of America’s Best Dance Crew. Together with his mom and girlfriend/baby mama, he appeared in Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.
