Michelle was born in Memphis Tennessee. While growing up, she learned to play the guitar and piano and also took voice lessons from Bob Westbrook who also worked with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. She made $50, 000 in the show’s first season and $200,000 in the second. After the second season, she moved to New York to join “Love& Hip Hop New York” with the aim of improving its ratings. In 2014, she began starring in her own spin-off of “Love & Hip Hop” titled “K. Michelle: My Life”. The show is basically the chronicle of her life after leaving “Love & Hip Hop”, her music career and her relationship with family and friends.
